Some large companies may share a similar challenge of having a complex network of business legacy systems. These systems, used for processing diverse sets of data, are usually interlinked, which makes the task of changing or upgrading existing systems a challenge for companies.

To address this challenge, Deutsche Bank recently launched an integration solution that leverages a middleware by SAP called SAP Process Integration (SAP PI), which was developed to facilitate the exchange of information between a company's internal business systems and those of external parties. Formerly known as Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI), SAP PI is known as an integration broker, as it mediates between entities with varying requirements in terms of connectivity, format and security protocols.

Interest in SAP PI has escalated significantly since its launch in the early 2000s. Today, there are more than 3,500 companies globally using SAP NetWeaver PI, with more than two new customers added every working day*.

Achieving Real-Time Straight-Through Processing with DB's SAP PI Solution

Developed in collaboration with SAP, Deutsche Bank's SAP PI solution aims to provide seamless, secure and direct connectivity between the client and the Bank via SAP PI. Specifically, it enables the Bank to send and receive payments and information from the client on a real-time basis.

Deutsche Bank's SAP PI solution has several advantages over similar products in the market.

Firstly, the Bank's SAP PI solution offers innovative value-add services and functionalities such as parameterization and customization. For example, Deutsche Bank's SAP PI solution is able to support withholding tax payment details and Extended Payment Details (EPD) at invoice level, depending on the client's business strategy.

Secondly, Deutsche Bank will provide clients with a connectivity kit, which eliminates the need for additional programme development on the client's end, resulting in cost savings and shorter implementation time. Clients are also able to tap into Deutsche Bank's experienced technical and service teams for assistance.

Currently, the Bank is in the process of implementing the solution for a group of pilot clients in the region.

The end-to-end solution by Deutsche Bank attests soundly to the Bank's commitment as an innovative bank with technologically enabled solutions aimed at helping clients improve their operational efficiencies and working capital management.

As the pioneer in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) integration solutions in the industry with over 10 years of experience, Deutsche Bank is confident that it is able to take SAP interface to the next level with its seamless integration solution with the SAP PI environment.
